An ancient craft rooted in China and Japan, later embraced in Victorian Europe – today rediscovered through a contemporary lens.
Paper Flowers are both art and alternative: a quieter, more sustainable way of holding onto nature. My work begins in real flowers – studied closely, lived with – but moves beyond them. I shift colour, distort scale, and follow intuition. The result is not imitation, but interpretation.
Each petal is dyed, bleached, stained or painted by hand. Stems are formed from paper – bound steel wire. Some pieces stand alone; others gather into more expressive arrangements always paired with my Wonky Clay pot.
WONKY CLAY
I´ve worked with clay for over ten years, shaping stoneware and porcelain by hand. I follow the form as it grows, letting curves, coils, and textures emerge naturally. Each piece carries the marks of its making – glaze drips, edges uneven, shapes unexpected. I love this perfect imperfection, like life itself.
